Seasons Change

💎Autumn happens to be my favorite time of year. The cool air, the leaves turning colors, the smell of the holidays in the air, always fills me with the excitement of ‘what’s next’! While Autumn may be my favorite season, it’s not the only season that exists. I understand that seasons change and that there is a purpose for it all. Similar to life, seasons come, and seasons go, but they are all necessary for what they bring into our lives as well as what they may remove.
💎Winter is a time where nature takes its rest, the temperature drops, the grass disappears, most animals find refuge to be safe from the cold temperatures, the trees are bare and there are fewer hours of sunlight. Our lives go through winters as well. Times where we must take our rest, sometimes we feel cold or numb to life’s happenings. We seek refuge and even ‘hibernate’ tucked away in our own thoughts, trying to figure out our next move in life.
Spring is a time of blooming, where newness emerges from the darkness, and nature is revived. Springtime shows us that nothing ever really dies, leaves grow on trees again, flowers flourish and daylight hangs around a lot longer than before. Our lives go through a season of blooming as well. We feel alive, refreshed, rejuvenated, and hopeful. We look forward to the changes our lives will face with newfound excitement.
💎Summer is a time to feel the warmth of the sun. Daylight seems to last forever. We often feel the most alive during the summer months, looking forward to all the great outdoor activities we can enjoy. The air is hot, but we don’t seem to mind it all that much because we know it will not last forever. We even welcome it because we know the season will change soon enough. Our lives mirror summer, all sunny and exciting as we look forward to the dawning of a new day. We meet the summer seasons of our lives with great expectations, and unafraid and with arms open wide.
💎Yet there is still something uniquely special about Autumn. Autumn reeks of harvest times. We can even smell it in the air. We can’t put our finger on it, but we just have a sense that something amazing is about to happen. We’ve toiled all year long and now it’s reaping time. We were careful to plant good seeds on good soil and now, according to the principles of God, we can expect a good harvest.
💎This season has been particularly challenging for many of us. COVID-19 has taken us on a ride we never ever expected to encounter. We lost family, friends, coworkers, and even hope in some cases. With every loss, there will always be gain. Always be reminded that seasons are sure to change, where your life is now it will not always be, but if we are careful how we plant we can surely expect that when harvest time rolls around we will yield amazing blessings. Be encouraged Sisters, your season has come, embrace your harvest!
